Meeting of the University of Basra president with the director of international scientific coopration of Alzahra University


 

Dr. Saad Shahin Hamadi, President of the University of Basra, Iraq, met 18 september 2019 with Dr. Parichehr Hanachi, Director of International Scientific Cooperation at Alzahra University, and Dr. Bathul Meshkin Fam, Secretary of the International Scientific Cooperation Working Group on Arab Countries. The meeting was also attended by Dr. Mohammed Hamza, director of the Al-Nakhil Research Center at the University of Basra and some faculty members at the University of Basra.
 
Dr. Batul Meshkin Fam first welcomed the guest of Basra University, introducing Alzahra University and the existing capacities to collaborate with Alzahra University.
 
Dr. Hanachi emphasized the importance of expanding international cooperation with Alzahra University and expressed interest in establishing a partnership with the University of Basra. These collaborations include student exchange, student study opportunities, joint dissertation guidance for graduate students, as well as co-teaching by professors at the two universities.
 
Dr. Saad Shahin Hamadi also welcomed the introduction of Alzahra University and emphasized the importance of cooperation between the two universities and welcomed the proposals for cooperation. While appointing a representative to work with Alzahra University, he invited Alzahra University officials to visit the University of Basra to learn more about the capacities available at the two universities. He also announced that due to the appropriate capacity and presence of female trainers at Alzahra University's College of Physical Education, the two universities could work together for the first step in the field of physical education.
 
Alzahra University has previously collaborated with the University of Basra in the field of physical education, and professors from two universities have participated in scientific conferences held in the field of physical education.
 
Basra University began  with four faculties of literature, law, science and engineering. It is currently enrolling students with 3 faculties in various fields of medicine - pharmacy, humanities, engineering, arts, and more.
