According to the 5th Annual Report of the University Ranking by Academic performance or URAP , 5 Iranian universities were ranked among the top 2500 universities in the world.
 
Alzahra University is so ranked for the first time in the list of top 2500 universities in the world.
 
The Middle East University of Technology in Turkey manages and updates this rating system.
 
URAP is one of the global ranking systems that identifies and evaluates global institutions in relation to each other.
Number of articles, number of citations, total number of publications, scholarly productivity, research impact, and global collaboration, are the key benchmarks of the Europ system for evaluating higher education institutions.
