Department of physics
Department of physics began accepting students in physics teaching in 1979. In 1994, it began the program of applied physics. Then, in winter 1995 the graduate program was founded with accepting MSc students in solid state physics and elementary particles physics. In 2003 theoretical physics and atomic-molecular physics, and finally in 2008 astrophysics were added to programs of MSc in physics.
In 2004 the program of PhD of physics was started, with accepting students in theoretical physics. Later, condensed matter physics and atomic-molecular physics were also added to the programs of PhD in physics
The department of Physics has 21 faculty members, including 6 professors, 11 associate professors, and 4 assistant professors.
Beginning from fall 2018, the department runs a new graduate program, with the following disciplines.
- Optics and laser
- Particle physics and field theory
- Statistical physics and complex systems
- Plasma physics
- Condensed matter physics
- Gravitation and cosmology
- Astronomy and astrophysics
- Nano-science and Technology
Department of chemistry
Department of chemistry, with 40 years history of education and research, accepts students in BSc, MSc, and PhD. It began in 1976 with the two programs of pure chemistry and chemistry education. In 2004 applied chemistry was also added. In 1993 the program of MSc was started in analytical chemistry, inorganic chemistry, organic chemistry, and physical chemistry. Nanochemistry was added in 2004. In 1999 the program of PhD was started in organic chemistry and inorganic chemistry. Analytical chemistry was added in 2013.
The department of chemistry has 23 faculty members, including 6 professors, 5 associate professors, and 12 assistant professors. The department includes 3 laboratory technicians as well.
The department of chemistry is in collaboration with the Iranian Chemical Society, the laboratory network of nanotechnology, the laboratory network of strategic technologies, the network of scientific labs of Iran, and the management of the laboratories of the Alzahra University.
