The specialized meeting on "Application of Artificial Intelligence in the Covid-19 Epidemic" was organized by the Swiss Desk of Isfahan University of Technology in collaboration with the Swiss Leading House Research Center on Monday, August 24th, 2020.

In this virtual meeting, discussions and exchanges took place between a number of experts and activists in this field from Iran and Switzerland.

Alzahra University, considering the history of cooperation with the National Working Group and allocating a Swiss research scholarship to a PhD student at Alzahra University last year, introduced Dr. Mohammad Hossein Hashemi Nejad, a faculty member of Alzahra University School of Engineering, to participate and deliver a speech at this specialized meeting. Participated in the topic "The role of artificial intelligence in health".

Artificial intelligence as one of the most important trends in computer engineering has a wide role and influence in various fields of other sciences. One area where artificial intelligence has been able to play this role has been in the area of ​​e-health. Given the growth and spread of the Corona-Covid 19 virus around the world, researchers in the field of artificial intelligence are trying to use this technology to help manage this crisis.

Areas of artificial intelligence to manage Covid 19 so far include anticipating the spread of the virus, tracking suspected and suspected cases, and developing drugs and vaccines. The results of this research have shown that artificial intelligence has been able to play an important role in all three areas and by presenting these results, the crisis officials of the countries have been able to use it to a large extent to prevent the increasing spread of the virus.
