Faculty of Social Sciences and Economics
History
The faculty of social sciences and Economics as one of top academic institutes of the region which is dedicated to educating women social scientists and economists offers diverse educational services in the fields of sociology, economy, management, accounting, and family studies. Starting its early activities in 1964 with the two majors of secretarial studies and accounting, the faculty gradually developed by incorporating a wide range of majors in social studies. Since 1985, this faculty has had 5 departments, each with outstanding achievements in both education and research affairs.
As the biggest faculty of the university in terms of the number of majors, students and professors, the faculty of social sciences and economics includes 6 departments which offer 24 educational programs at undergraduate and graduate levels. There are currently 54 full-time faculty members and 40 part-time lecturers teaching and researching various aspects of social sciences at this faculty. Of the 1800 current students of the faculty, 800 are studying in our MA programs and 120 are doing their PhDs.
