Malaysian delegation visits Alzahra University

Professor Zuraida bint Kamaraldin, Minister of Agricultural Industries of Malaysia, accompanied by a delegation, and Ahmad Ferdows Arefin, First Secretary of the Malaysian Embassy in Tehran, visited Alzahra University and participated in a specialized meeting on "Women's Empowerment".

Professor Zoraida bint Kamaraldin in her speech entitled: "Empowerment of women through education and science: from a Malaysian perspective" while expressing her pleasure at attending Alzahra University and thanking the warm welcome of the president and university officials, for the progress made in the field of empowerment Women in Malaysia noted. "In Malaysia, the illiteracy rate has dropped to zero, and about 60 percent of university students are girls," he said. Dr. Kamaraldin added: "However, the percentage of women's political participation in Malaysia is about 10%, which is a low number according to the statistics of women's participation in other areas." Emphasizing the foundations of Islamic culture and preserving the fundamental role of women in the family, she noted the importance of developing supportive policies to help young mothers care for their children, support women heads of households, and encourage men's participation and cooperation in housework.
